Story Vroom Vroom is produced by Chicagoland storyteller Scott Whitehair and presented by Evanston institution Double Clutch Brewing Company. It is co-hosted by Scott and Kevin Biolsi, proud Evanstonian and master statistician.
Scott Whitehair (Producer/Co-Host)
Scott Whitehair is a storyteller, teacher, and producer living in Chicago, IL. He is the producer of This Much Is True, Chicago's longest running monthly storytelling series, creator of Story Lab Chicago, which has put 800+ new storytellers on stage since 2011, and director of Do Not Submit, a grassroots network of open mics across Chicago bringing people together to connect with each other. Scott tells anywhere someone will listen, including The National Storytelling Festival Exchange Place, Steppenwolf Theater, the historic Green Mill, and on NPR, the Risk podcast, and Siruis XM. He is a frequent guest instructor at the city's top universities, and his personal narrative class has been selling out every month since 2012. Scott is in demand as a coach and trainer, spending his days helping individuals, companies, and non-profits develop their voices as storytellers. He enjoys grilling meats when the weather allows, and cooking himself in a sauna year round. Check out his website here. |
Kevin Biolsi (House Statistician/Co-Host)
Kevin Biolsi is a statistician by trade but has managed to avoid the glamorous, fast-paced, and ultimately self-destructive lifestyle so often associated with that profession. He also has a doctorate in cognitive psychology that has gone unused for nearly thirty years. Kevin homeschooled his two daughters for a total of fourteen years, yet even with this clear disadvantage, both have become fully functioning adults. He dabbles in brewing beer, playing the banjo, and gardening. He enjoys running as his sole means of exercise and has served on the board of a youth dance ensemble and a youth theater group while maintaining an impressive inability to dance or act. Kevin started telling stories in front of audiences in 2016 and found it to be more exhilarating than any drugs he’s ever taken, although to be honest, those have almost exclusively been analgesics and anti-inflammatories. One day he hopes to finally tell a story that doesn’t revolve around any of his many personality flaws. Kevin and his wife Carol have lived in Evanston, IL, since 1993 and have shared their home at various times with their daughters Lauren and Megan, dogs, cats, rabbits, and a guinea pig. |
