The Mechanics
1) On the fourth Wednesday of the month, please join us at Double Clutch Brewing Company at 2121 Ashland in Evanston. If you drive, you can park for free in their massive lot.
2) There's no cover charge and all ages are welcome.
3) Anytime after 5:00 PM, grab a seat at the communal tables in the bier hall. Eat, drink, make new friends! Share stories! Take a walk around the space and check out the collection of rare and vintage classical cars.
4) At 6:00 PM, we'll open the list for storytellers to sign up for the random drawing of open slots
(Want to tell? See below!)
5) We're going to get this party started at 7:00 PM, letting loose with some storytelling from your friends and neighbors.
6) Although we'd hang with you until the sun comes up, around 9:00 PM seems like a reasonable time to wrap it up.

What To Expect
Story Vroom Vroom is a lively, audacious storytelling party. Sharing stories is one of the most pleasurable things people do when they gather. We simply want to get a group of humans together and have an absolute blast connecting with each other in an relaxed, enjoyable environment. There's so much great storytelling going on in Chicago, but we want to mix it up and create a looser, relaxed format that feels more like a hangout than a show.
Our bread and butter is going to consist of open slots for our friends & neighbors to share any damn story they'd like from our stage. They'll sign up that night, and when they are randomly (and fairly!) chosen, we'll get them up on stage.
But you can also bet that there are going to be games, surprises, challenges, toasts, trivia, special guests, music, audience polls, experiments, giveaways, door prizes, pie charts, riddles, dance offs, and much, much more.
We're not going to restrict you with any overarching themes. (Actually, we might occasionally do themes. Maybe we'll just poll the room to see what the theme of the evening was after all of the stories have been told.)
We are definitely not judging or scoring your stories. (I mean, really. Can you even imagine that?!)
We're also not going to take ourselves too seriously as your "esteemed" hosts.

Tell a Story
First of all, if you are a human being, you are a storyteller, so we want you on our stage.
Absolutely no experience necessary.
There will be 10-12 open spots at each Story Vroom Vroom. We'll randomly draw names throughout the evening.
Interested tellers can sign up from 6:00 PM on. We may also open the list again at intermission.
If your name is drawn, you will then join us on stage to share any story you'd like, in any way you'd like.
Storytellers will have 7 minutes maximum to do their thing.
Adult language and content are acceptable. Tone and topic are totally up to the tellers.
Hate speech of any sort will obviously not be tolerated.
In addition to these slots, we'll also have random opportunities throughout the evening to take the stage for a story on a spontaneous topic/theme, informal invitations to share in small groups at your tables, audience challenges, and more.
*NOTE: Please don't let the fun, carefree nature of this show dissuade you from stories with a more serious tone, deeper meaning, or personal vulnerability. We believe that we can create a unique structure and feel for the show while featuring and honoring any type of story. Anything you want to share is welcome, and you will always be fully supported and protected.
